I recently saw this movie and found it pretty amazing (possibly the best out of all of them). Has just the right amount of action, romance, suspense and I think the best thing was that I went into it not knowing anything about what was going to happen. Warning for people who haven't seen it yet I'm about to talk about a BIG spoiler.
When katniss is tasked with killing snow and is aiming and deciding whether to take out coin or snow and kills coin, i'm wondering, is this snow's final act of tricking katniss into thinking coin was actually evil and out to take over the capital for herself or was it actually true? Since after she kills coin, snow looks at katniss and starts laughing as if to say (you've messed everything up and fell for it in my final act of if I die, she dies as well).
Personally I feel coin wasn't actually evil but katniss was tricked. Such a powerful scene. This is coming from someone who's never read the books either. I feel coin was actually innocent but portrayed as evil because she suggested a symbolic hunger games. I am a tiny bit on the fence though XD

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I have read all the books. In that book, it seemed pretty unambiguous that she was...maybe not "evil," but certainly power hungry. But it's possible that the movie took a different route. I didn't think Mockingjay was a good book, so I'd be happy with them making changes.

Yea, alot of people are happy with that sewer scene with those monsters. Alot of people said it reminded them on Alien. It made me jump quite a few times in a good way lol Also since you've read the book, I can say alot of people have said finnick's death in the movie is considered even better than in the book.
You'll have to watch it and let me know what you think of coin.

I have yet to watch it, I've read the books twice so I don't really mind if I read spoilers haha Looking forward to watching it though!

I've watched it and read the book, I personally think Catching Fire was the best one. The ending of this one was quite lack luster.

I've read the books and I've seen all the movies... I think that Coin wasn't good. I never liked her. I feel like she was always sort of kissing up just to try to keep Katniss on her side, even though she knew that Katniss was independent and really didn't have any sort of leader. I think that Snow thought it was hilarious because, with that move, it really showed that Katniss was the mockingjay, regardless as to who the leader was. Her shooting Coin was the same as her defying the games with the berries, and the going along with the fake wedding, and the fake pregnancy, and shooting the shield at the arena. I think he thought it was funny because for one, it finally wasn't him who she was insulting and two, it showed that she would do that stuff regardless as to who is in power. Katniss is a monster that will go against anything and anyone, and as Snow has finally figured out, she'll do anything to win. ...wow sorry for the rant lol I didn't even know I felt that strongly about this haha!

Well how I picked it up was that Coin wanted to do the exact same thing Snow was doing, hence why she was willing to go through so many lengths just to get him out of power, including killing him. Being president of the rebellion made it so that people looked up to her and thought she was a much better person than she actually was. But in the book and in the movie Katniss was told that Coin wanted her dead, the whole squad she was with was supposed to get her killed. She even sent in a mad Peeta to possibly bring her down. Katniss's group decided that they weren't going to kill her themselves. Coin wanted to run Panem the same way that Snow did it, with more Hunger Games and that just wasn't a good thing. I think both Snow and Coin deserved to die and Paylor was meant to be.
