This roleplay board is pretty experimental, so these rules are subject to change. I'd like to see what sort of things we need as you all start roleplaying. I'd also like to keep things pretty casual, but of course there are some ground rules. It seems like a lot, but I think it's all pretty basic stuff.
If you have any questions or concerns about the rules, don't hesitate to post here or message me! I am here to help. Have fun!
- All roleplays must be related to Animal Crossing in some way. Crossovers are fine.
- This is a family-friendly forum. I understand that it's difficult to do a 100% G-rated roleplay, so I'll allow some blood and violence. Absolutely no explicit sex or heavy drug use. Use your best judgement!
- No taking control of someone else's character unless permission is given. This includes killing off characters.
- Try to keep grammar and spelling as correct as possible. I'm not going to force perfect English or anything, I just want you to make sure that everyone can understand what you're saying.
- Please submit your character before you begin roleplaying. Characters are submitted by making a thread here. If there's something you want to update or change about your character, please add a post to the same thread. The title should include the character's name.
- No double-posting. If you have something to add to your previous post, please just edit it.
- If you want to kick someone out of a roleplay, please message me and things will be sorted out privately. I don't want too much drama here.
- Somewhat related to the above rule, Don't keep someone from joining a roleplay unless the amount of members have exceeded a set limit. For example, if you say at the beginning that you're only looking for three other people and a fourth tries to join, you may say no. However, you can't deny someone entry because you don't like them.
- You must follow any rules that each individual roleplay has. These rules cannot interfere with the rules listed in this thread. If you believe a roleplay has an unfair rule, please let me know.
- Please write in third person, unless the rules of the roleplay state otherwise. For example, "Stella went fishing" instead of "I went fishing." Third person is just the default; it's totally fine to have an individual roleplay that's in first person.
- Out of character comments must be clearly marked. I recommend either writing "OOC" before it or writing it in double parentheses.
- If you use any sort of face claim, you must give credit to whoever created the image. Same applies to any reference image. A "face claim" is basically an image that represents your character. Face claims are not necessary (personally, I don't usually use them).
- The actions of a member's characters do not necessarily reflect the member's own opinions.
- And, of course, try to be polite and kind to others!
