I come here with something that I wonder if anyone else who plays ACNL sometimes struggles with... Do you ever feel disheartened, put off playing, or feel like the game is spoiled for you when you see how perfectly beautiful and immaculate other people's towns are on the internet?
I feel myself stuck in this way of thinking whenever I play. I start a new town and think to myself, "Yes, my town is going to end up looking amazing!"... And then when it's time to plot out paths and place PWPs I become stressed and fed up because I'm not an arty person, and every time I try landscaping and putting down paths it's never worked out how I want it. Then inevitably I end up resetting out of frustration, cycle, rise and repeat! ... All-natural towns crammed with randomly placed flowers, bushes and trees aren't a bad thing right? Because this is how my current town, Eden, is going to end up looking like. I cannot do paths, or plot out my PWPs so perfectly that it looks like the Fairy Nookmother has waved her wand over the entire vicinity and sprinkled a bit of magic. I wish I was stylistic, but I'm not. And it kills me. (This topic isn't meant to be taken entirely seriously, or offend anyone, but landscaping can and does put a spanner in my works - I'm never going to have an internet show-town. And I can get jealous to the point where I don't want to play anymore, haha!)

Yeah, I can understand this perspective. There are some pretty fancy towns out there! But I'm sure a lot of people prefer the "natural" look. I personally like both. My town is also pretty messy, since landscaping and PWPs are generally just not what I play Animal Crossing for. But it can be fun to mess around. It's important to just do whatever you think looks best, and people will appreciate the love you put into it. Different strokes for different folks, you know?
