I'm always terrible at coming up with town names. "Gentille" just means "nice" in French. I'm pretty sure I had just finished some French homework, so that was all I could think of at the time (and I didn't want to deliberate for long, since I was so excited to get started). I don't even remember the names of my Wild World and City Folk towns.
But some of you have rather pretty town names. How did you come up with yours, and how long did it take?

Cabriola is a Spanish word that means something like "prance", something a horse would do. The truth is I had a reading book for school when I was 6-7 years old and I was learning how go read (fluently, because I started reading at 3). That book had short stories and poems and its name was "Cabriola". Every page had a little horse drawing on the lower outer corner so when you passed the pages quickly, it looked like the horse was galloping. I don't know if I explained it well ^^U Anyway, three or four years ago I decided to create a new WW town and couldn't think of any name, and suddenly I remembered my old reading book. I don't know why, but Cabriola sounded just perfect. And when I started playing NL, I named my town Cabriola too. That's basically it.

That's awesome, I love that!^^ I named my town Pearlett because I'm in love with pearls and opulence and stuff like that. Obviously I'm not very opulent.. But you can have dreams! The lifestyle seems so poised and classy. Lana Del Rey's image makes me squeal and she hypnotises me with her voice and performance style. Also one of my favorite drag queens is named Pearl. ^^ I'm a nerd for the rich and fancy way of living so since I can't live that realistically in real life I live it in Pearlett where Pearl is opulent as can be!(;

I always named my towns Kyoto in Wild World, I wasn't creative there, as you can see. c:' My City Folk town is called Turel. That's the name of the capital of the most powerful western kingdom in a story I started to imagine years ago. And sadly, so far it's still the only town with a name. As I wanted something personal as a town name there, I immediately knew which name to pick. My New Leaf town on the other hand is called Lorimar. Lorimar comes from the Mana-Series where it's usually the name of the ice kingdom. The one I specifically had in mind was castle Lorimar from Sword of Mana, where all it's inhabitants except for the king were turned to ice by the dark spirit Malyris. Doesn't sound like the best name for a town, but I've always been fascinated by that castle and I really like the sound of the name. c:

I always name my towns after something nature related cos I love every green. I was thinking of another word for forest and I think I went through alot of words and found pine, and then alps as in mountain. As for my name, it's a cure dog spirit in tales of zesteria =3

My town is named Knitting. I wanted to name the town after something I really love in the hopes that I wouldn't delete it.
...it worked.

Oh, I'm horrible at naming towns. I usually end up naming my towns after real places, like Europe. (Hence my NL town's name)
Uhhh, if I remember correctly, I ended up naming my City Folk town after a town in Pokemon. Twinleaf. I thought it was hella cute, so yeah.
