Despite the game having major flaws like the grass deteriorating even if you walk and the animals saying the same thing over and over...I kind of miss it. I miss a console animal crossing game that was online. I mean how long was the online on city folk before they dumped it?
Something that wasn't in any other ac game to date is you could send mail to other players over wifi from the town hall (which is where the post office was in cf). On the 3ds you can't, you have to be in their town to send them a letter. This was due to wii connect 24 or something which was "always on".
I miss alot of the buildings being in the town itself like the museum and nooks. It made it seem more like it was part of your town and not just on a centralised street. I think if we ever get a new console ac they should add more buildings to the town itself.

You know, despite being the game on the Wii since I disliked the controls, it was an overall good game. City Folk was actually my first AC game so it will have a soft spot in my heart. I know I also got my father hooked on the game and it got to the point where he was playing more of the game than I was haha. He was pretty bummed when all of his saved data got erased when the Wii broke. He has yet to start a new File, sadly.

Oh man that's brutal, ALL the data gone? I would stop playing at that point xD I have mixed feelings about city folk. Visually it looks great, it felt like a true forest town with all the shops in your town. My main gripes were it didn't feel like there was much to do. After you pay off your debts and complete your museum there wasn't much else. I hated how the villagers repeat themselves after a few clicks, i'm glad they bought back the ability to ask the animal what they're up to in new leaf.

Oh definitely, he was sad when the data was gone. I know he had over 5 million bells saved because he wanted to purchase the master chair (I believe it was called that) and then a month later the Wii broke. So we got the WiiU and all of the data was gone. I really felt for him haha
I know after playing New Leaf, looking back at City Folk just looked so bland and boring. But I can't judge too hard since it brought me into the series.
